What’s the attitude towards hiring this year at the golf operation where you work?
February is traditionally a month in which job fairs are held at golf clubs across the country, but the COVID-19 pandemic changed things in 2020, with food and beverage, pro shops, tournaments and other special events such a weddings affected.
While golf was eventually deemed to be a safe sport to play with proper protocols, things appear to be just as uncertain so far in 2021 as they were last year due to lockdowns, delayed shipments in vaccines and new variants of coronavirus emerging.
So, does the operation where you work stick with tradition and hold a job fair with the idea of soon starting to hire for the coming season or hold off on the hiring process until management gets a better idea of the situation, say in late March?
That’s the question in this week’s GNN Poll.
