The RBC Canadian Open was interrupted at times last week by missives from overseas where the inaugural event of the LIV Tour was taking place at the Centurion Club near London, England.
The most newsworthy items were from off the golf course, whether it was players such as Phil Mickelson making it official that he would play LIV, player resignations from the PGA Tour, or the PGA Tour suspending players.
What happened off the golf course was much juicier than what happened once they teed off across the ocean. Sooner or later, however, the LIV Tour will need to attract interest through golf, rather than it being a curiosity.
Does the LIV Tour have your attention as a fan of golf, or do you look at it as a curiosity due to recent headlines?
That’s the question in this week’s GNN Poll.

The PGA tour will have to address the wrap around season / the top 30 players (the core group) after completing the Tour Championship need a break, however they fall behind in FEDEX points if not participating immediately in the Fall session. The product ( 4 day stroke play) could use some alternative formats; outside of perhaps 10 very good tournaments each year it becomes uninteresting.
