Has Late Season Winter Weather Affected The Golf Operation Where You Work?

April 24, 2022 By Ian Hutchinson

It may be spring on the calendar, but you wouldn’t have known it early last week when heavy snow turned the area where I live north of Toronto into a temporary winter wonderland.

A snow/rain mix hit Eastern Ontario the next day before moving into Quebec.

Last Tuesday, 22 cm. of snow fell on Calgary, a record for April 19. It was more snow that city had the previous month. Click here for more.

That came after a monster storm hit the Prairies, causing golf operations in Winnipeg to delay their openings. For more on that, click here.

Have you had the same experience so far this season? Has late season winter weather recently caused you to delay your golf operation’s opening or to close temporarily?

That’s the question in this week’s GNN Poll.

You can answer below or on the GNN home page and if you’d like to add a few thoughts on this subject, please use the Comments section below.

Has recent late season winter weather caused a delay in opening the golf operation where you work or to close temporarily?

  • Yes (83%)
  • No (17%)

Thank-you.
