Nobody wants to be the person to bring this up, but you know anyway that the peak of Canadian golf season is beginning to wind down.
The calendar says that September is just over a week away and a sure sign is that high school and university students who worked at your golf business over the summer are saying their goodbyes and heading back to school.
Some who remain in the area may return to work on weekends to make a few more dollars before the snow flies, but many are gone until next year once school gets underway in September.
Back in April, the GNN Poll asked readers to compare 2022 to last year for hiring employees to fill out the staff at the golf businesses where they work.
At the time, 49 per cent of respondents said the hiring process was more difficult. With 41 per cent saying it was about the same. Only 10 per cent said the hiring process was less difficult in 2022 than it was last year.
So we’re wondering how it all worked out over the summer.
With students on their way back to school, how did the number of summer staff members at the golf business where you work compare to other non-pandemic years?
That’s the question in this week’s GNN Poll.
