The Canadian contingent at this week’s U.S. Open will not be the usual cast of characters from recent years when the second major of the season gets underway at Congressional on Thursday without Mike Weir, Stephen Ames and the rest of this country’s PGA Tour representatives.
Instead, it will be a Nationwide Tour veteran and two Canadian Tour players taking their shots, with Jon Mills of Belleville, Ont., and Calgary’s Wes Heffernan having previous U.S. Open experience, while Adam Hadwin of Abbotsford, B.C. is trying his luck for the first time.
Before they left for Congressional, I caught up with all three for my Sun Media column. You can read that by clicking here.
