It was just three weeks ago when the GNN Poll asked readers about the seriousness of their respective provincial governments imposing restriction on the golf operations where they work in the battle against the “third wave” of COVID-19.
A strong majority, or 77 per cent of respondents, said it was no worse than 2020, 14 per cent said it was “very serious” and nine per cent said the operation where they work weren’t under any new restrictions.
How quickly things change in a few short weeks, led by the Ontario government’s decision last week to shut down golf courses in that province, although it could be argued that golf courses didn’t open there until May 17 last year. As it stands, the current order is in effect until May 20, so conceivably, it may be no worse than 2020.
However, it isn’t limited to Ontario as travel restrictions have come into effect in provinces such as British Columbia, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, for example.
Depending on location, that may or may not cut into business, but you know your own situation where you work. so we’re seeking an update to that poll from three weeks ago.
Are you more concerned now how government restrictions to battle the spread of COVID-19 will affect the golf operation where you work than you were at the beginning of April?
That’s the question in this week’s GNN Poll.
