Was The PGA Of America Right In Punting Ted Bishop?

November 2, 2014 By Ian Hutchinson

Unless you’ve been out of the country on vacation or in hibernation the past week-and-a-half, you’ve heard all about the social media comments by PGA of America president Ted Bishop that led to his ouster from the role.

If not, you can catch up here.

Following that story, you’ve likely read or heard several opinions on Bishop being removed from his position.

Many believe his removal from office was entirely justified for an association that supposed to be dedicated to inclusion of everybody in the game.

Others believe that the punishment doesn’t fit the crime and while agreeing Bishop made a boneheaded comment, it shouldn’t cost him the presidency.

Some believe this isn’t even about the comments on social media and more about behind-the-scenes politics that may stem back to Bishop’s role in the U.S. loss at the Ryder Cup or even beyond that.

There are no shortage of opinions and those are just a few of the comments I’ve heard and read, but now, it’s your turn in the GNN Poll.

You can answer below or on the GNN home page and add your thoughts in the Comments section below.

Should PGA of America president Ted Bishop have been removed from his position over social media comments he made that many saw as sexist?

  • NO (74%)
  • YES (26%)

Thank-you.
