Back in early January, the GNN Poll asked readers if they were confident that 2022 is the final year in which Covid-19 is a concern for the golf businesses where they work.
With Omicron beginning to make its presence known at the time, 71 per cent of respondents said no, they weren’t confident that 2022 would be the final year that Covid is a concern, with 29 per cent saying they were confident that this would be the final year for Covid.
Whether Covid maintains its grip on society beyond this year remains to be seen, but just as the golf season is getting underway across most of Canada, a sixth wave is making its presence felt, with cases and hospitalizations rising across the country and health officials encouraging certain age groups to get a fourth dose of Covid-19.
Just when it seemed that Covid was at least easing up on society, along comes another wave of concern, so is the golf business that you work for planning to return to at least some of the safety protocols from earlier in the pandemic, such as mandatory masking indoors or enforced social distancing?
That’s the question in this week’s GNN Poll.
