PGA Of Canada Night Has Become A Tradition The Industry Looks Forward To Each Year

January 23, 2019 By Kevin Thistle

The PGA of Canada will host Canada Night Thursday evening at the Orange County Convention Center, once the PGA Merchandise Show closes for the day.

Of course, the national award winners and hall of fame inductees will be recognized, as will Sandy Jones, the winner of this year’s George Cumming Distinguished Service Award, who has done so much over the years for the PGA of Great Britain and Ireland, the Ryder Cup and golf in Europe.

All of this year’s recipients are here.

Canada Night has grown since its inception in its current format in 2011 and it’s become an event that Canadians attending the show look forward to each year.

Everybody gets together for the first 45 minutes or so and the awards ceremony is about 45 minutes and it gives representatives from the industry – golf professionals, owners, suppliers and others – the opportunity to network before the awards ceremony.

It’s also great for all of those being honoured to have it take place in front of 400 to 500 people from the Canadian golf industry, offering them an evening that they hopefully remember for the rest of their lives.

It’s a tradition that everybody seems to enjoy and this year’s event should be no different.
