On Friday, I’ll be in the Montreal area for a town hall meeting at Club de golf Le Fontainebleau in Blainville, Que., beginning at 10 a.m.
The purpose of the meeting is to update members on the progress being made with the PGA of Canada Quebec Zone, which ran into financial problems last year before the national association assumed operations.
I’m excited about a new era. The Quebec Zone is such a storied and important zone and we want to bring it back to its former glory, so there will be lots to report.
It has taken longer than expected to get to this point, but there are so many working parts. You’ve got to make sure one thing is wrapped up before you start something else.
Now, we’re at the point of hiring a new executive director. We’ve received several applications and we’re going through the resumes right now. We’re also in the process of forming a board of directors – we have an advisory board now – so we’re looking to the future.
Quebec Zone members are proud members. I already know many of them and I look foward to meeting many more on Friday.
With collaboration and communication, we’re so much stronger and I look forward to listening and learning from all zones and so is our staff at the national office.
