Members And Staff Have Embraced Hosting PGA Tour Canada Opener

May 24, 2015 By Kyle German

This week, Point Grey will be the venue as PGA Tour Canada kicks off its 2015 tournament schedule with the PC Financial Open.

You can seen the entire PGA Tour schedule here.

This is the second year that we’ve had the PC Financial Open and last year, we had good weather from aeration leading up to the event itself. The golf course was in beautiful condition and the players seemed to absolutely love it.

We also did some thing from our side that the players appreciated. Our general manager decided to do a cut party and we had food, drinks and a live band for a few hours. The players and caddies came and everybody had a great time.

Our general manager and members really embraced the event and PGA Tour Canada seemed to really enjoy the golf course and facilities, so it was great from our standpoint.

Selling an event like that to the membership isn’t always easy since they know the golf course will be closed for a week a month after it was closed for nearly a week for aeration when the weather is good, but they’ve embraced it and it’s been great.

It looks as if everything is going to work out the same this year. There’s a lot of excitement around the club this year, as well. Banners and posters have been up for close to two weeks and there’s been a buzz around the clubhouse.

The members seem to enjoy showcasing the facility. Last year, the review from the players were so good, so members feel great when they hear from some very talented players about how much they enjoyed playing their golf course.

An extra shot of confidence in your home club is always a great thing.
