The Businesses That Sit Still Are The Businesses That Go Out Of Business

March 9, 2014 By Kyle German

As it stands right now, golf is a niche sport, but there are strides being taken to grow participation and I think that should continue.

If the governing bodies of golf really want to do it, I think in the next 10 to 15 years, it can be more of a sport for the masses, but we’re not there yet.

The grow the game initiatives have been going for awhile now and I’m not sure of the numbers right now, but I don’t think we should just let it go and just say we’re going to get who we’re going to get.

There is more of an awareness of golf. I don’t know if it’s the Tiger effect, but I think more people are seeing golfers as athletes, so the potential is there.

I think the grow game initiatives that are out there are great, but I’m not positive that they’re having the desired effect, at least not yet, but the businesses that stand still are the businesses that go out of business.

We have to keep trying and eventually, we’ll find the method that works.
