I’m in Mississauga, Ont., for Tee Talks Live, which ends Tuesday, followed for the next two days by the National Teaching and Coaching Conference, both at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale.
As you’ve likely heard by now, the this will be the last of its kind before it comes together with the National Golf Owners Association’s Golf Business Canada Conference and Trade Show and the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association’s Golf Course Management Conference.
This is one of those things that has been talked about and talked about and the opportunity finally presented itself at the Golf Business Canada show a couple of weeks ago in Calgary.
This is the opportunity to have three conferences in the same city with a joint trade show, share costs for keynote speakers etc. and collaborate on what has become more of a golf industry show.
With so many different parts of the golf industry represented, it’s going to mean a lot for our networking and education. In this day and age, being a golf professional means different things to different people – some want to focus on teaching, but others want to be a general manager as well as a golf professional.
Having people who share the same interests and experience will allow for positive networking and some of the education seminars and workshops might be of interest to a variety of people, including professionals, owners and superintendents.
Collaboration has become such a key word in Canadian golf recently and this is only the start of good things to come.
