Callaway Redesigns Chrome Soft, Chrome Soft X

January 22, 2020 By GNN

Callaway has redesigned the Chrome Soft and Chrome Soft X golf balls for more speed and dstance to go along with their fee and spin characteristics.

The new Chrome Soft has a redesigned Dual SoftFast core with a 34 per cent larger volume inner core, while a thinner, graphene-infused outer core is used to promote fast ball speed and increased wedge spin.

A new mantle system is formulated of proprietary, high-energy ionomer to promote fast ball speed and a 10 per cent thinner urethane cover promotes less spin on full shots, while maintaining soft feel and greenside spin and control.

It also features a new lower drag aerodynamic dimple pattern for higher launch, higher flight and more distance.

The Chrome Soft X has a significantly larger SoftFast core to promote faster ball speed and a 15 per cent thinner cover to lower spin on full shots for more distance.

A new mantle system combines a softer inner mantle with a firmer outer mantle, both consisting of proprietary ionomer blends, to promote faster ball speed.

The firm outer mantle works with the new, thinner cover for increased greenside spin and control and a new lower drag aerodynamic dimple pattern for a penetrating flight, leading to more distance.

The new Superhot ball is built for golfers seeking more distance, featuring an aerodynamics package for low drag and more lift,.

Superhot is designed for increased spin and control around the green, with a three-piece construction and a soft cover.
