The British Columbia Golf Superintendents Association is seeking Expressions of Interest in the management and leadership of the BCGSA. The role is expected to be filled by the fall of 2022 with a start date of Jan 1.
The BCGSA is a non-profit, membership-driven association with more than 400 members with a mission to serve its members, advance their professions,and improve communities through the enjoyment, growth and vitality of the game of golf.
The successful applicant will be passionate about providing service to members and continuing the association’s reputation in golf course management.

Minimum duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Official address of the BCGSA – having custody of the entire office and to administer the daily duties of the office from his/her home.
In reference to the constitution and by-laws, the ‘Head Office of the Association shall be located in the Province of British Columbia, Canada, at the place therein where the business of the Association from time to time, be carried on.
Liaise with other associations.
Liaise with Education facilities, keeping them informed of scholarship opportunities.
Assist with the application process for the CGSA Superintendent of the Year Award.
Board Duties: Arrange and administer monthly conference calls of the Board
Accounting/Bookkeeping and Legal Duties: Assume all accounting including banking, bank account(s), reconciliation, invoicing, collection, and payment of all accounts receivable and accounts payable, keeping records and accounts of all transactions
Advertising, Roster, DogWood Publication and website: Together with the board, solicit advertising and set rates for the roster, magazine, website, newsletter design and social media Pursue material and articles for publication
Events and Conference: Attend, help out with organizing and assist with fundraising for the events and activities
Professional Development Days: Work with the board in drawing up the schedule of events Seek sponsorship and infomercial sales for Professional Development Days.
Exchange Event: Work with board and the region to organize all aspects of the Exchange Event.
Other Duties: CEC’s for Pesticide Certificate Renewal. Liaises with Ministry of Environment in applying for CEC’s for Pesticide Certificate renewal program. Liaises with WCTA and other associations who also collect CEC’s so that the program is consistent within the province
Current Software Programs Used: Microsoft Office, Adobe.
Other Expectations: Attend a minimum of one meeting in each region per year.Government advocacy and solicitation on important turf industry related issues. Increase social media presence.
The Expression of Interest for this position will be posted until Sept. 9. Candidates to be considered will be contacted by Sept. 30, with the aim to complete the interview process by Nov. 1. The successful candidate will be announced at the Professional Development Days, Dec. 1, with a start date of Jan. 1.
The Expression of Interest will be shared in confidence with the Strategic Planning Committee and a hiring committee.
