Bigwin Island Requires Assistant Superintendent

Bigwin Island on Lake of Bays in Ontario requires an assistant superintendent.

The ideal candidate will have a positive team-oriented attitude and will work closely with the superintendent and co-assistant superintendent in the daily operation of the maintenance department.

Duties

Make recommendations on the daily conditions of the golf course.

Assist in the daily planning and supervision of the staff.

Be involved in hiring and training of staff with attention to workplace safety protocols.

Assist in fertilizer and chemical application planning.

Assist in water management and maintenance of a Toro lynx irrigation system.

Education/Qualifications

Possess a two-year degree in turfgrass management or short course certificate and equivalent experience.

Ontario pesticide licence.

IMP accreditation (an asset not required).

Chain saw safety licence.

At least five years in golf course maintenance or related.

A strong understanding of the game of golf.

Willingness to learn and lead.

A valid driver’s licence.

Competitive salary.
