Capilano Golf and Country Club has an opportunity for an equipment technician to join its fleet maintenance team.
Working with and learning from the new fleet manager, this role embraces all of the mechanical sub trades, including heavy duty, automotive, agricultural and small engine. The successful candidate could begin, continue or complete an apprenticeship in this workshop setting.
Responsibilities
Facilitating precise and timely preventative maintenance on a variety of turf care and heavy machinery.
Making timely and efficient repairs to keep equipment in rotation.
Being available as needed to support on-course maintenance staff with equipment related issues.
Work with the superintendent, fleet and purchasing manager and assistant superintendents to set up and adjust equipment.
Keeping cutting equipment sharp with precision cutting units adjusted in increments of thousandths of an inch.
Maintain a clean and hazard-free work space and be available to perform general equipment cleaning, facility and yard maintenance as required.
Qualifications
Previous mechanical and/or turf care equipment maintenance is required.
Current or future enrolment in a mechanical trade school with the aim to start or complete an apprenticeship an asset.
The desire to pursue a career in turf care equipment maintenance.
Compensation
$33.68+ / hour DOE
