Carnmoney Golf Club near Calgary is seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented individual with excellent communication and leadership skills to fill an assistant superintendent position.
The assistant superintendent is an integral part of the grounds department management team.
Under the direction of the golf course superintendent and working closely with the senior assistant superintendent, the successful candidate will work in a hands on/supervisory role to help deliver the maintenance programs and conduct the project work required to provide an unmatched golf experience.
Carnmoney Golf Club will be undertaking several capital enhancements over the next few years, which includes an extensive bunker renovation.

Assist with coordinating and scheduling the day-to-day operations of the golf course with the grounds department leadership team.
Assist with training and supervision of a large seasonal staff to ensure that all staff are fully trained to a high standard.
Assist with the calibration of all sprayers and fertilizer equipment, while maintaining accurate, detailed records of product applications and inventory.
Maintain accurate, detailed records of product applications and inventory.
Perform regular maintenance operations, chemical and fertilizer applications, irrigation system maintenance and construction duties as necessary.
Problem-solve to help determine required actions for turf issues.
Assist equipment technician in the maintenance and adjustments of course equipment when needed.
Assist with building repair and maintenance on the property as necessary.
Positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment.

Degree or diploma from a recognized turf management program.
Formally trained in golf course maintenance.
Minimum three to five years working in the golf maintenance industry.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills that support open communication within the entire club’s leadership team.
Efficient and detail orientated.
Willingness to work extended hours when necessary (including weekends and holidays).
Experience repairing and maintaining irrigation systems.
Familiarity with Rain Bird Nimbus irrigation software an asset.
Experience with golf course construction.
Experience with bunker renovations/restorations.
Experience operating sprayers for fertilizers and pesticides.
Valid Alberta Pesticide Applicator’s Licence or the ability to obtain one.
Possession of a valid driver’s licence.
