As GNN has been reporting this week, temperatures will soar at next week’s ANA Inspiration, the second women’s major of the year in Rancho Mirage, Calif. “Projected temperatures next week will range from 105-115 (Farenhei) and we are very conscious of the high heat. 2020 has been the year of health and safety, and with that in mind, we will be allowing caddies to take carts for the week,” wrote LPGA chief tour operations officer Heather Daly-Donofrio in a Thursday memo. Caddies can still walk and carry the bag if they desire. Push carts are also an option. Players can ride in carts during practice rounds, but will walk during competition. Caddies can also wear bibs instead of the jumpsuits that have become tradition at the ANA Inspiration, which is usually played in the spring. The LPGA Tour has also purchased 1,500 cooling towels for players, caddies, staff and volunteers … Calgary’s Jaclyn Lee will be in the first two groups that start the Four Winds Invitational in South Bend, Ind., on Friday.
