Muskoka Lakes Golf and Country Club, a Stanley Thompson in Port Carling, Ont., is seeking individuals enrolled in a turf management program who possess a passion for the game to be part of the leadership group and help guide a maintenance team of 20 or more people.
As part of this program interns will be exposed to as many aspects of the turf maintenance operation as possible including:
Participating in management meetings.
Cultural practices and product applications.
IPM record keeping and data collection.
Irrigation system use, repair, start up and blowout.
Reel grinding and equipment maintenance.
Opportunity to lead teams through various projects.
Team management opportunities.
The internship can be tailored to best fit the individual’s goals and needs to ensure a meaningful learning curve and benefit. Interns are expected to submit a list of learning objectives that will be executed with the help of the management team and reviewed throughout the season.
