The National Golf Course Owners Association of Canada named Lesley McMahon of Balmoral Golf Course in Red Deer, Alta., as its new president on Saturday at its annual general meeting in Calgary.
“I am so very proud to be the new president of this great association and am especially proud to be the first female president, said McMahon. “As the next couple of years unfold in front of us, I hope to bring a vision of collaboration and success to all of our members and partners.”

She joins an executive that now includes vice president Harry Brotchie of Lakeland Golf Management Inc., secretary treasurer, Daniel Pilon of Les clubs de golf Banlieue-Ouest and past president Steve Spratt of the Falcon Ridge Golf Course.
The board of directors for the next two years will include Brian Schaal, (Copper Point Golf Club), Slade King (Play Golf Calgary), Doug Breen (GolfNorth Properties), Reto Steiner (Woodside Golf Course), Nadia DiMenna (Centre de Golf Le Versant), Mike DeYoung (Glen Arbour Golf Club), Rick KindraChuk (Wakaw Lake Regional Park Golf Course), Richard Edmonds (Tangle Creek Golf and Country Club), Debra Griffith (Greensmere Golf and Country Club), and John DeCorso (Victoria Park East Golf Club).
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing board members and in particular Steve Spratt, the outgoing president for his leadership these past twp years”, said NGCOA CEO Jeff Calderwood.
“I would also like to welcome the incoming board and look forward to working closely with them for the next two years,” said Calderwood.
