The Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club is seeking a spray technician.
The successful candidate is interested in working in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude. The spray technician will work closely with the superintendent and assistant superintendents to focus on all aspects of turfgrass maintenance.
Duties
Sprayer and spreader calibration.
Lead the IPM program with emphasis on insect and disease scouting, as well the online database and submissions.
Apply fertilizer and chemical applications, including the use of boom sprayers, spray hawks, rotary spreaders and drop spreaders.
Assist in the ordering and inventory process of fertilizer and chemicals.
Assist in watering practices.
Assist in irrigation repairs, troubleshooting, irrigation head adjustments and operation of the central computer.
Any or all of the above skill sets are assets to this role. Of primary interest are a positive attitude and the willingness to learn.
Wage: $45,000 – $50,000/ year + club benefits and RRSP contribution.
Applicant must have an Ontario exterminator’s licence or the ability to obtain one.
Hours of Work: This position has potential to be year-round. The individual must be flexible to work weekends and holidays and would work 40-50 hours a week during the peak season.
