Golf Canada chief operating officer Peter Beresford is stepping down from his post, but will continue with Golf Canada as executive consultant on the Golf Canada membership strategy.
During his tenure, Beresford helped launch Golf Canada as the new consumer facing brand of the Royal Canadian Golf Association.

“Peter played a major role in helping to launch Golf Canada and has assured me he still wants to continue to help Golf Canada develop and grow, but has asked that his role going forward be reduced, giving him time to meet the needs of other clients,” said Golf Canada executive director Scott Simmons.
“I am pleased that Peter will continue to offer his valuable expertise and guidance to the organization as we continue strengthening our membership strategy,” he added.
Beresford, a former global marketing senior executive with McDonald’s, will focus his attention on his newly formed Executive Consulting agency, which will be offering strategic planning, program development and brand building services to Golf Canada, as well as several other clients.
Ron Gardner, who worked with Golf Canada as managing director of membership development and services will be joining Beresford as a partner in their new Executive Consulting agency, effective October 1.
