The National Golf Course Owners Association of Canada voted in its new board of directors on Thursday at its annual general meeting in Vancouver, with Daniel Pilon of Club de golf St-Zotique in Quebec as its new president.
“I am truly honoured and humbled to have been chosen as the next president of the NGCOA Canada. I have been a huge supporter of this great association since I joined in 2014 and I couldn’t be more proud to be part of it’s leadership,” said Pilon.
“My goal for the next two years is to focus on member support through the introduction and growth of programs and events as we work on normalizing our industry after the crazy years we have just been through,” he said.
“My intention is to also attend as many chapter events as possible in order to connect with as many members throughout the country,”
Pilon is a third generation golf course owner and began work in the family business at the age of 12.
After graduating as a superintendent from Seneca College in 2000, Daniel spent seven years working his way to being general manager. In December 2008, he became the sole owner of the family’s three golf courses.
He is joined on the executive by:
Vice-President: Richard Edmonds, Tangle Creek Golf and Country Club
Secretary Treasurer: Slade King, Play Golf Calgary
Past President: Harry Brotchie, Lakeland Golf Management
The above executive and the following 11 directors make up the NGCOA Canada board for the next two years:
Ryan Garrett, PEI’s Finest Golf
·Nadia Di Menna, Centre de Golf le Versant
Rob Howell, Metcalfe Golf Club
Gail Burrows, Sequin Valley Golf Club
Doug Quick, Kingsville Golf and Country Club
Rick Kindrachuk, Wakaw Lake Regional Park Golf Course
Chris McNicol, Woodside Golf Course
Bryan Ewart, Chilliwack Golf Club
Brent Miller, ClubLink Corporation
Doug Breen, GolfNorth Properties

“I would like to thank each of our outgoing board members and president Harry Brotchie for all of their contributions,” said CEO Jeff Calderwood.
“We’ve had several years in a row of exceptional success, despite all of the obstacles we had to overcome. The dedication and leadership of the board has been critical to those accomplishments,” he said.
“I now look forward to working closely with Daniel Pilon and his newly elected board members as we continue our support for golf course operators throughout Canada,” said Calderwood.
