Saugeen Country Club in Bruce County, Ont., is seeking a highly-motivated, versatile general manager to work with the board of directors as the club moves closer to its centennial year in 2025.
Saugeen Golf Club is a full-service, 27-hole club, acknowledged as being member-friendly. It will host Golf Ontario tournaments this year.
The general manager is accountable for all operations within the club and will report to the board though the club president. The GM will set the example fo all staff and provide leadership to ensure high-quality member and guest experience.
Principal characteristics required for the job include professionalism, integrity, accountability and outstanding interpersonal skills.
Implement general policies established by the board of directors and direct ther administration and execution.
Develop and approve specific operational policies, programs, procedures and methods in concert with general policies.
Work effectively and collaboratively as a team member on the board.
Develop, maintain and communicate a basic management philosophy to guide all club personnel towards member and guest satisfaction, employee morale and optimal operating results.
Develop in concert with the board, the club’s long-range and annual (business) plans for board approval.
Develop and execute an annual program of events to serve members, support the community and attract non-members to participate.
Coordinate development of operating and capital budgets according to the budget calendar. Monitor and take effective corrective action as required.
Develop and executive an annual communication plan to keep members and others informed on club activities.
Participate in outside activities to enhance the profile of the club and broaden the scope of the club’s operation by fulfilling its public obligations as a participating member of the community,
Develop and implement a marketing program to attract new members and new business to the club.
