The Willows Club in Saskatoon is seeking an assistant superintendent.
Plan and supervise the maintenance of the golf course.
Organize and delegate work schedules, as well as project work.
Hire, supervise, manage and train turf maintenance staff of 20–30 individuals.
Report to the course superintendent on all department activities.
Develop and implement employee safety policy.
Maintain accurate daily journal, nutrient management and PM records.
Assist with proper operations of the irrigation system.
Perform other duties as required by the superintendent.
A degree or diploma in turf management.
A minimum five years of golf course maintenance experience.
A minimum of three years of supervisory and/or foreman experience.
Knowledge of irrigation operation and water management.
Knowledge of golf course equipment, maintenance and repairs.
Experience and knowledge of golf course operation.
Excellent leadership skills and trouble shooting skills.
Experience in supervising, directing, scheduling staff.
Knowledge of computer programs.
Knowledge of fertility and application methods.
Excellent communication skills.
Pesticide applicator’s certification.
Valid driver’s licence.
