University Golf Club in Vancouver is seeking an experienced head mechanic.
Working under the direction of the equipment manager and course superintendent, the head mechanic will be responsible for the entire fleet of turf equipment and golf cars within the group of companies.
This is a full-time position. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity for growth as he/she will be working with a mentor who has been with UGC for 35+ years and is ready to pass on the torch.
Qualifications and Assets
Five-plus years of mechanical experience and/or training.
Certificate from an accredited college or technical school (small engine mechanic).
Basic computer knowledge is essential, including Office 365 programs and SEO.
Valid B.C. driver’s licence with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs independently.
Must be fully vaccinated
Responsibilities
Sustaining a preventative maintenance program on turf equipment and golf cars.
Being available as needed to support on-course maintenance staff with equipment related issues.
Work with the turf care team in maintaining equipment.
Keeping cutting equipment sharp with precision cutting units adjuted in increments of thousandths of an inch.
Maintain a clean and hazard-free work space and be available to perform general equipment cleaning, facility and yard maintenance, as required.
Compensation and Benefits
The successful candidate will receive a benefit package, including extended medical, dental, life insurance, company-matched RRSP program, restaurant discounts and free golfing privileges. Salary range is $32-35/hour based on experience.
