Brooke Henderson Three Back With One To Go At AIG Women’s Open

August 21, 2021 By GNN

Brooke Henderson

Brooke Henderson is tied for eighth at six under, three shots off the lead, with one round remaining at the AIG Women’s Open at Carnoustie.

Henderson shot a two under 70 in Saturday’s third round. Anna Nordqvist, who shot a 65, and Nanna Koerstz Madsen, who finished the day with a 68, lead at nine under.

After six birdies and a couple of bogeys over her first 14 holes on Saturday, Henderson was at eight under for the tournament, but she bogeyed the 15 and 17th holes, both par fours.

“I did a lot of good things today, which is really nice. You know, the closing holes are definitely the toughest holes out here and especially when it started raining, it got a little bit trickier,” said Henderson.

“I’m happy how I played today and how I battled coming in, made a couple up-and-down saves on 16 and 18. Hopefully, I’ll make a lot of birdies tomorrow and hit good shots and see what happens,” she said.

There’s a 46 per cent chance of rain for Sunday, with light wind and a high of 19 C.

“It’s changing all the time so you have to adapt. I feel like, for the most part, we are hitting quality shots and our game plan is pretty solid. I’m excited to tee and up tomorrow and hopefully good things can happen,” said Henderson.

The leaderboard is here.
