Canada 1 has opened in a tie for first with Spain in team competition after Wednesday’s first round of the World Junior Girls Golf Championship at Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, Ont.
Angela Arora of Surry, B.C., led the way with a four-under 68. She also leads the individual competition by one shot.
Lauren Kim of Surrey, B.C., shot an even par 72, Michelle Liu of Vancouver, who also finished with a 72. The top two of three individual scores count towards the overall team total.
Canada 1 and Spain are four shots up on Belgium and Chinese Taipei. Canada 2 is tied for fifth at one over.
