Aaron Cockerill of Teulon, Man., opened the 2020 European Tour schedule on Thursday in Malelane, South Africa, where he shot an even par 72 in the first round of the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
Cockerill finished the day with three birdies and three bogeys and is tied for 40th going into Friday’s second round.
Cockerill earned status on the European Tour after tying for fifth at the final stage of Q-school in Spain earlier this month. The top 25 earned full status in 2020.
