Brooke Henderson goes into Sunday’s final round at the Meijer LPGA Classic seeking her second consecutive LPGA Tour title and her third championship at this particular event.
Henderson, who won the ShopRite LPGA Classic last week, is solo third, three shots off the lead held by Nelly Korda. Jennifer Kupcho is solo second, one shot behind Korda.
Henderson, the 2017 and 2019 winner of the Meijer event, shot a five-under 67 on Saturday, her second bogey-free round of this tournament, to reach 15 under for the first three rounds.
“Overall my ball-striking is really good right now and that’s really exciting, so hopefully, just give myself a lot of birdie looks and eagle looks on the par fives and just see if I can chase down two great players,” said Henderson.
“(Sunday). I have nothing to lose. I can go out and be aggressive and try to make some birdies, but, I mean, Nelly plays very aggressively all the time and Jen is playing amazing and making a lot of birdies, so they’re not going to be easy to catch,” she said.
“ I’m going I am going to give it my all and see what happens,” she added
Maude-Aimee Leblanc shot a bogey-free 68 on Saturday and is tied for 34th at six under.. Alena Sharp had a round of 69 and is tied for 41st at five under..
