An advertisement is expected to appear in Thursday’s Globe and Mail that will indicate two portions of the historic Ladies Golf Club of Toronto are for sale.
Colliers International has been retained by the club, based in Thornhill, Ont., as manager and agent for the marketing of the two parcels of land.
The marketing of the land will last for six weeks and a two-thirds majority member vote is required before the land is sold to developers.
Ladies was founded in 1924 by late Canadian Golf Hall of Fame member Ada Mackenzie to offer women access to tee times not available to them at other clubs in that era.
The Stanley Thompson design opened with nine holes in 1925 and the official opening was held in August of 1926.
According to the club, funds will be used to support the success of its operations and to invest in its future.
