Industry Notes: TaylorMade Honours D.J.’s Masters Win With Commemorative Putter, Tee Times And More

TaylorMade is honouring Dustin Johnson’s victory at last fall’s Masters with the Dustin Johnson Spider Limited Commemorative Edition putter, built to mirror the specs of the putter he used. A seamless solid black crown is absent of any sightline, allowing him to aim with the topline while also promoting reliance on feel at address and during the putting stroke. In addition, it features a short slant hosel, a Counter Core SuperStroke GT 1.0 grip and two 9 g weights placed in the heel and toe.  Subtle green accents have been added on the sole and back badge as a nod to the Augusta, while a specialty box completes a springtime vibe. It’s outfitted with the 2020 Season’s Tradition putter cover he used the week of his victory … An event at Congaree Golf Club in Ridgeland, S.C., will fill the vacancy on the PGA Tour schedule left by the cancellation of the 2021 RBC Canadian Open due to the COVID-19 pandemic … Brooke Henderson will start the first major of the season, this week’s ANA Inspiration in Rancho Mirage, Calif., on Thursday at 7:32 a.m. local time on the 10th tee. Click here for the tee times … Defending champion Corey Conners will start this week’s Valero Texas Open on Thursday on the 10th tee at 8:09 a.m. local time.Those tee times are here … Ben Silverman will be the first Canadian off the tee at the Korn Ferry Tour’s Emerald Coast Classic in Destin, Fla. Silverman wll start at 7:10 a.m. local time on the 10th tee. Click here for the tee times … This week’s GNN Poll asks readers how they would describe how the golf courses where they work/play came through winter. As of this writing, 68 per cent of respondents said the condition of the course was excellent, with 16 per cent saying conditions were acceptable.
