Notes: Pendrith Returns At This Week’s John Deere Classic, Inflation And More

Taylor Pendrith returns to the PGA Tour at this week’s John Deere Classic in Silvis, Ill., after dealing with a rib injury. Pendrith will be joined by Michael Gligic, Adam Hadwin, David Hearn, Roger Sloan, Adam Svensson and Nick Taylor… The LPGA Tour is off until July 13-16 when the Dow Great Lakes Bay Championship will be played in Midland, Mich. … PGA Tour Champions is off until next week’s Bridgestone Senior Players Championship in Akron, Ohio, the second of three consecutive majors on the schedule. The Senior Open takes place at Gleneagles in Scotland, July 21-24 … The Korn Ferry Tour is at TPC Colorado this week for the Ascendant this week … The Epson Tour next tees it up July 8-10 when the Twin Bridges Championship is played in Albany, N.Y. … Last week’s GNN Poll asked readers if the price of fuel or other factors had curtailed business travel this year where they work. The majority, or 79 per cent of respondents said yes, with 21 per cent voting no … This week’s poll asks if spending by customers/members so early in the season has been affected by inflation at the golf business where they work? As of this writing, 63 per cent of respondents said spending was down slightly, with 24 per cent voting that spending was status quo to other years and 13 per cent said spending was way down.
