Mike Weir tied for second at the PGA Tour Champions season opener, the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai in Hawaii, on Saturday. The LPGA Tour’s first tournament of the season concluded the next day with Brooke Henderson on top of the leaderboard with her 13th victory on tour. Then, Ben Silverman, a former PGA Tour player, won the Korn Ferry Tour’s second event of the season, the Bahamas Great Abaco Classic, in a playoff … As expected, the Bank of Canada has raised its benchmark interest rate to 4.5 per cent, the eighth time in less than a year that the rate has gone up. The Bank of Canada is expected to pause that trend as it watches inflation … This week’s GNN Poll asks readers if the golf operation that employs them will keep memberships/daily fees status quo to last year or raise prices in 2023. As of this writing, 65 per cent of respondents said their places of employment were raising fees/membership slightly, with 29 per cent saying fee/memberships were going up a lot and six per cent saying fees will remain status quo to last year.
