Notes: Canadian Named Director Of Golf At Notre Dame, Women’s Major Doubles Its Purse And More

John Handrigan of Bracebridge, Ont., who served as head coach of the Notre Dame men’s golf team the past five seasons, has been named the first director of golf and will assume a leadership role with both the men’s and women’s golf programs at the university. For more, click here … The PGA of America, KPMG and LPGA Tour today announced on Tuesday that the purse for this week’s KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will be doubled to $9 million … Dan Czerwenka has been named the PGA of British Columbia’s programs manager … The deadline for submitting a nominee for the 2022 CGSA/Bayer Superintendent of the Year Award is June 30. For more information, click here … Nick Faldo announced on Tuesday that he will retire from the CBS Sports at the end of the 2021-22 PGA Tour season. He’ll be replaced by Trevor Immelman … This week’s GNN Poll asks readers if the price of fuel or other factors has curtailed business travel this year where they work.
