Notes: Canadians Join Tour’s Player Advisory Council, Player Moves And More

Mackenzie Hughes and Corey Conners have been named to the 16-member Player Advisory Council that advises and consults with the PGA Tour Policy Board (board of directors) and commissioner Jay Monahan on issues affecting the Tour … His T7 finish at the Sony Open in Hawaii on the weekend vaulted Nick Taylor from 257th to 218th in the world golf rankings. Conners is top Canadian in 32nd spot, followed by Hughes (47th), Adam Svensson (66th), Adam Hadwin (78th), Taylor Pendrith (108th) and Taylor, who has a couple of top-10 finishes in his first seven starts in 2022-23 and is now 41st in FedEx Cup standings … Jared Siminoff will be interim executive director of the PGA of British Columbia, replacing Donald Miyazaki, who has departed after more than 11 years … As mentioned recently on GNN, Nelly Korda has signed a multi-year deal with TaylorMade that begins at this week’s Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in Orlando when she’ll play the Stealth 2 HD nine degree driver, Stealth 2 15 degree three wood, Stealth 2 21-degree seven wood, P·770 5-6, P·7 MC 7-PW irons, Milled Grind 3 50, 54-degree wedges and TP5 ball. Expect Brooke Henderson to officially join TaylorMade soon … Jacob Altenburg has been named head golf professional at Barrie Country Club in Barrie, Ont. … This week’s GNN Poll asks readers if they believe their place of employment in the golf industry is adequately prepared for a medical emergency.
