Notes: Canadians Qualify For FedEx Cup Playoffs And More

Corey Conners, Mackenzie Hughes, Adam Hadwin, Taylor Pendrith, Adam Svensson and Nick Taylor have qualified through the updated top 125 to play in this week’s FedEx St. Jude Championship, the first event in the FedEx Cup playoffs in Memphis. If they hadn’t already, each secured their status next season on the PGA Tour … Michael Gligic and Roger Sloan are eligible for the upcoming Korn Ferry Tour Finals after finishing 126th through 200th on the updated list. Another 25 PGA Tour cards will be available in that three-event series, which begins in two weeks at the Albertsons Boise Open … Albin Choi, David Hearn, Stuart Macdonald and Ben Silverman are at this week’s Pinnacle Banks Championship in Omaha, Neb., the final tournament on the schedule before the Korn Ferry Tour Finals get underway … PGA Tour Champions is in Snoqualmie, Wash., for the Boeing Classic, where Stephen Ames and Mike Weir are playing … Alena Sharp is the only Canadian scheduled to play this week’s ISPS Handa World Invitational in Antrim, Northern Ireland. The tournament after that is the CP Women’s Open at Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club, Aug. 25-28 … The Epson Tour moves to South Bend, Ind., this week for the Four Winds Invitational, where Megan Osland, Maddie Szeryk, Selena Costabile and Rebecca Lee-Bentham are the Canadians in the field … Last week’s GNN Poll asked readers how rounds in July compared to the same month a year ago where they work. The majority, or 56 per cent said they were less than in 2021, 30 per cent said about the same and 14 per cent said they were better this year … This week’s poll asks readers if their members/clients are spending as much this year in the pro shop/food and beverage as they normally would in other years.
