Notes: CGSA Fall Field Day, Super Student Scholarships, GNN Milestone And More

With Hurricane Ian churning towards the Carolinas for landfall on Friday, there are tropical storm warnings for Charlotte, N.C., where Quail Hollow is located – a close call for the Presidents Cup that ended less than a week ago … The Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA) has announced its 2023 Fall Field Day National Championship will be held at Beacon Hall Golf Club in Aurora, Ont., on Tuesday, Sept. 19 … The CGSA has also announced that the application deadline for its student scholarships is Nov. 30. For more information, click here … GNN is now into its 15th year of operation … Some Golf PEI member courses – Avondale, Countryview and Red Sands – opened to the public on Thursday after Hurricane Fiona hit the island. Mill River will open Friday at 10 a.m. local time …This week’s GNN Poll asks readers If an employee decided to become a quiet quitter, or somebody who won’t do anything extra at the golf business where they work, should it be grounds for termination?     Ian, 15 years is an amazing milestone in this time of changing technologies and communication methods. To me at least it seems that change and GNN are the only constants. I remember how excited you were when you launched GNN at the Ontario PGA show.
