Four players have a mathematical chance to win the Charles Schwab Cup playoff title this weekend, those being Bernhard Langer, Jim Furyk, Miguel Angel Jimenez and Ernie Els. The PGA Tour Champions season wraps up this week with the third playoff event, the Charles Schwab Cup Championship in Phoenix. Mike Weir and Stephen Ames are among the 36 players who qualified to play in Phoenix. Weir is eighth in the Schwab points standings and Ames is 23rd … Toronto’s Albin Choi has earned conditional status on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2022. Choi started the day in a tie for 30th, but finished the final round of qualifying school on Monday with a six over 77 to drop into a tie for 96th. Choi finished all four rounds at five over. The medalist and ties receives fully exempt status for 2022 The second through 10th place finishers (and ties) are guaranteed entry into the first 12 events of the 2022 season. The 11th through 40th finishers (and ties) are guaranteed the first eight events and the remainder of the field receives conditional status. Drew Nesbitt shot a final day 70 to finish the tournament at eight over and tie for 119th. He will also have conditional status in 2022.
