Taylor Pendrith will be the first Canadian to start Thursday’s first round of the Mexico Open at Vidanta. Pendrith gets underway at 9:18 a.m. local time on the first tee. All of the tee times are here … Maddie Szeryk is the first Canadian out at the JM Eagle LA Championship. She starts at 7:26 a.m. local time. Those tee times are here … LIV Golf is in Sentosa, Singapore, this week. That starts on Friday … Toronto’s J.C. Deacon guided the Florida Gators to the 2023 SEC championship in U.S. collegiate golf last weekend … A.J. Ewart of Coquitlam, B.C., won his first SSC men’s golf individual title as Barry University won its sixth team championship. It was Ewart’s 14th win at Barry … The PGA Tour has named former Players Championship tournament director Andre Silva vice president of the Presidents Cup International Team, a new position that will focus on elevating the brand of the International Team and the Presidents Cup … This week’s GNN Poll asks readers if, with inflation easing and interest rates paused, they feel better about the overall Canadian economy as the golf season gets underway than they did when 2023 began.
