Notes: Jack Kane, Take A Kid To The Course And More

July 5, 2022 By GNN

To most he was Jack! To others he was Coach! To his Grandkids he was Barnie ! To me he was Dad. Dad taught me to work hard and leave it better than I found it. Thanks for all of the messages to my Family. 🙏🏻❤️ pic.twitter.com/PUl8wrYWMT

The following are the visitation/funeral arrangements for Jack Kane, who made such important contributions to the game and in making Prince Edward Island a prime golf destination. He passed away Sunday at the age of 84 and will be resting at the Hennessey-Cutcliffe Funeral Home, 35 Longworth Avenue in Charlottetown. Visitation is on Thursday from 4 pm to 7 pm. The funeral mass is on Friday at 10:30 am at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 3 Pond Street in Charlottetown. Memorial donations may be made, with thanks, to KidSport PEI. His obituary is here … Take A Kid to the Course continues this week until Sunday. Take A Kid To The Course is a family-oriented initiative from the National Golf Course Owners Association that encourages seasoned, occasional and new golfers to take a kid to the golf course for quality time in the fresh air. A map of participating golf courses is here. Participants also have the opportunity to win one of several prizes in this contest … This week’s GNN Poll asks readers how rounds in June this year compared to the same month in 2021. As of this writing, 57 per cent of respondents said rounds were less than in 2021, with 30 per cent saying about the same and 13 per cent saying their rounds were better than June of last year.
