Notes: Looking Ahead To Torrey Pines, Travel Time On Tours And More

Michael Gligic, Adam Hadwin, Taylor Pendrith and Adam Svensson are the Canadians in the field for this week’s PGA Tour stop, the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in San Diego … With Korn Ferry Tour players currently participating at the Great Abaco Classic in the Bahamas, they’ll be taking off for Panama City for the Panama Championship, which gets underway a week from Thursday … PGA Tour Champions players also have some travelling ahead with the Trophy Hassan II being held in Morocco, Feb. 9-11 … The LPGA Tour is off until Feb. 23-26 when the Handa LPGA will be played … Mark Lindsay of Nielsen Agencies of Iron and Wood Golf Simulators, Brian Schaal of Copper Point Golf Club and Mark Strong of Sagebrush Golf Club will become the new members of the PGA of British Columbia board of directors. The Directors-Elect will be sworn in during the annual general meeting, Monday, Feb. 6 at Tsawwassen Springs Golf Club. Jonathan Kadin (Nielsen Agencies) is finishing his fifth and last term on the board. He also served as the association’s 40th president in 2019-20 … Last week’s GNN Poll asked readers if they believe their place of employment in the golf industry is adequately prepared for a medical emergency. The majority, or 63 per cent of respondents, said no, with 37 per cent saying yes … This week’s poll asks readers if the golf operation that employs them will keep memberships/daily fees status quo to last year or raise prices in 2023. As of this writing, 64 per cent of respondents said their places of employment were raising fees/membership slightly, with 36 per cent saying fee/memberships were going up a lot.
