With his win at last week’s Korn Ferry Tour event, Ben Silverman made a massive leap in the world golf rankings from 1,034th to 424th. Canadians in the top 100 of the world rankings include Corey Conners in 35th spot, Mackenzie Hughes (50th), Adam Svensson (68th) and Adam Hadwin (72nd)… Sam Ryder has come under fire from traditionalists for wearing joggers at Torrey Pines, leading some on the other side to spout off on social media about those critics standing aside and letting the younger generation decide on fashion trends. Whatever side of this issue you come down on, people should be allowed an opinion, whether you agree or not. Stand aside? Cancel culture strikes again. In the end, it will be tours and golf operations that will decide what’s in and what’s out … Speaking of social media, what’s with all the countdowns of days until the start of spring, majors, etc.? Do we need to be reminded about such things? … This week’s GNN Poll asks readers if they think the just-concluded PGA Show in Orlando will move to the PGA of America’s new headquarters in Frisco, Tx., anytime soon.
