Notes: Storm Damage, Jack Nicklaus Award, Who’s Playing Where And More

Damage is being reported at golf courses across Eastern Canada, including Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club, where this year’s CP Women’s Open will be held, after storms rolled through on Saturday … A.J. Ewart of Coquitlam, B.C., is one of five finalists for the 2022 Division II Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award. Ewart, playing for Barry University, won seven tournaments this season. The winner will be announced on June 5 at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio … PGA Tour Champions is holding its second consecutive major this week at the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship in Benton Harbor, Mich. Mike Weir, Stephen Ames and David Morland IV will be in the field … Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor are the only two Canadians at this week’s Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Tx. … Albin Choi, David Hearn and Stuart Macdonald will play the Korn Ferry Tour’s NV5 Invitational in Glenview Ill., where Ben Silverman starts the week as an alternate … The LPGA Tour is in Las Vegas for the Bank of Hope LPGA Match play, but Brooke Henderson isn’t playing for the second consecutive tournament, which is being played a week before the U.S. Women’s Open in Southern Pines, N.C. Maude-Aimee Leblanc and Maddie Szeryk will tee it up in Vegas … The Epson Tour is in the Tampa area for the Inova Mission Inn Resort and Club Championship, where Selena Costabile will play … Last week’s GNN Poll asks readers how customers/members are reacting to price increases this year, caused by inflation and other factors. As of this writing, 47 per cent of respondents said understanding that it’s part of business, 34 per cent of respondents said angry, but understanding that it’s part of business, 19 per cent said angry … This week’s poll asks readers with Covid-19 easing its grip on businesses, how often will they take part in virtual meetings, conferences, etc., going forward. Early results show 71 per cent of respondents said occasionally and 29 per cent said very often.
