Notes: Tee Times, Inflation, Back Surgery And More

Playing the Sea Island Golf Club Seaside Course, past champion Mackenzie Hughes will start on the first tee in Thursday’s first round of the RSM Classic in St. Simons Island, Ga., at 10:40 a.m. local time. All of the tee times are here … Corey Conners is playing the Japan Golf Tour’s Dunlop Phoenix Tournament this week in Miyazaki, Japan … Assuming she plays, Brooke Henderson will start on the first tee at 12:30 p.m. local time along with Minjee Lee in Thursday’s opening round of the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Fla. Henderson is currently dealing with an upper back injury … Canadian Golf Hall of Fame member and former LPGA Tour player Gail Graham underwent back surgery on Wednesday at Physicians Regional in Naples after experiencing pain, numbness and weakness … Inflation in Canada stayed steady at 6.9 per cent in October, leaving it unchanged from the month before. Offsetting higher gas prices and rising interest rates in October was a slowing in the cost of groceries and natural gas. Statistics Canada has more here …This week’s GNN Poll asks readers how the weather in early November affected the golf operations where they work. As of this writing, 73 per cent of respondents said warm temperatures got them bonus days to put through more rounds, while 24 per cent said they had been closed since the month began, so weather didn’t matter.
