Stuart Anderson of Strathmore, Alta., and Edmonton’s Wil Bateman will be exempt through the first six event this season after tying for eighth at PGA Tour Canada qualifying school at the Crown Isle Resort and Golf Community in Courtenay, B.C.
Anderson fired a four-under 68 in Friday’s final round to finish at six-under, the same score reached by Bateman, who had a two-under on Friday. Both finished eight shots back of American Eric Onesi, who earns exempt status through the season.
Finishers 19 through 40 plus ties will receive conditional status.
Thomas Hay of Langley, B.C., tied for 24th at even par. A shot back in a tie for 28th was James Allenby, also from Langley, at one over. Ben Itterman of White Rock, B.C., tied for 34th at two over.
