Canadians went one for five on opening day at the World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play in Austin, Tx., on Wednesday.
Corey Conners opened in impressive style, taking a 6&5 win over Sepp Straka.
“Obviously thrilled with the result. I got off to a really nice start, felt really good about my game, did a lot of things well. It’s nice to get the first match out of the way and be victorious,” said Conners.
“I made some nice putts early, felt like that was very key, but saying that, drove it great and hit a lot of good iron shots, so overall, it was a pretty solid day,” he added.
