Three bogeys on his back nine derailed Stephen Ames in his quest to win this week’s PGA Tour Champions event, the Boeing Classic in Snoqualmie, Wash.

Ames was bogey-free on his first nine of the day and he made the turn at six under, before bogeys on the 12th, 13th and 17th holes left him with a three-under round of 69 on Sunday.

At 11 under, Ames tied for third, four shots behind winner Miguel Angel Jimenez. It was the seventh top-10 finish for Ames in 16 events this season and the fourth time he’s finished in the top three.

Mike Weir shot 71 on Sunday and is tied for 14th at six under. Alan McLean of London, Ont., tied for 33rd.

The leaderboard is here.
