Tour Roundup: Ames Solo Second At Midway Point Of U.S. Senior Open

Roger Sloan shot a 64 on Friday at the John Deere Classic (file photo)

Stephen Ames is two shots off the lead held by Jim Furyk at the U.S. Senior Open in Omaha, Neb., where Ames shot a three over 73 on Friday.

At two under, Ames is solo second and one of just three players under par at the midway point.

Mike Weir is tied for 14th at one over after he shot a 71 on Friday.

Lionel Kunka of Kelowna, B.C., mssed the cut.

PGA Tour

Nick Taylor fired a six under 65 in Friday’s second round of the John Deere Classic.

At 10 under through the first two rounds, Taylor is tied for 10th, three shots off the lead.

Roger Sloan finished the day with a bogey free 64 that left him tied for 18th at eight under going into the weekend.

David Hearn shot a 65 on Friday and is tied for 24th at seven under at the midway point.

Korn Ferry Tour

Adam Svensson shot a six under 66 in Friday’s second round of the TPC Colorado Championship at Heron Lakes.

At five under through the first two rounds, Svensson is tied for 24th going into the weekend.

Myles Creighton of Digby, N.S., is also five under after two rounds after he shot a round of 69 on Friday.

Taylor Pendrith and Ben Silverman each shot a second round 70 and are tied for 32nd at three under through the first two rounds.

European Tour

Despite shooting a bogey free, six under 65 in Friday’s second round, Corey Conners missed the cut at the Scottish Open.
